Find yourself wondering (or debating) when is the best time is to send an email? Fret no more! Eloqua’s send Time Optimization (STO) is a new Campaign setting in Eloqua that allows you to send emails at the optimal open time for each contact. It can help you engage more effectively with your contacts, gaining their attention when they are historically most attentive to their emails. If they never open the email, what becomes of all of your hard work writing, designing and sending your email?
Eloqua designates the best time to send an email when the contact is most likely to open an email based on historical open times. Send Time Optimization is enabled for an Email step in the Campaign Canvas, the email will send in the hour around that contact’s optimal time. Any email using Send Time Optimization will be sent within the week of the campaign activation.
Some practical prerequisites for using STO are to use it only for “evergreen” (non-date sensitive) content, and to be careful not to combine other send-specific restrictions like breaking the send into smaller batches, which can negate the effects of the STO feature. You can read the full Send Time Optimization instructions in the Eloqua Help Center, and if you have any questions, the Marketing Automation Team is here to offer support.
