Email Deliverability & Eloqua 24A Updates

In the Feb ‘24 Eloqua update, Oracle has made changes to the security data of Eloqua emails to comply with new Service Provider (i.e. Google & Yahoo) regulations from high volume senders (like us). This will be an ongoing effort that Oracle makes in the Eloqua product and the Marketing Automation team will continue to monitor as part of our campus support service.

Email deliverability is about maximizing the potential number of emails reaching your contact’s inbox. Especially with the latest changes from service providers like Google and Yahoo, getting your messages to the inbox is even more critical these days.

We’d like to remind you of best practices to help lower both bounce and complaint rates, stay off blocklists, and improve UW–Madison’s sending reputation:

  • Only send to contacts who want to hear from you.
  • Do not buy or rent lists.
  • Implement an opt-in process.
  • Remove any unengaged contacts.
  • Avoid sending emails too frequently.

Redwood User Interface:

There were no additional updates or announcements on Eloqua’s change to the new Redwood Interface. We will continue to monitor progress in this area and will keep you informed of the timeline as it continues to evolve.  If you’re interested in what other changes Oracle made to the Eloqua product this month, you can read more on the Eloqua “24A” Release web page.
